  • Describe common infectious causes of fever in returning traveller, fever of unknown origin with particular reference to emerging / re-emerging infections and their epidemiology, including dengue, typhoid fever and malaria.
  • Outline agent biology, pathogenesis of disease and the manner in which infections manifest clinically.
  • Suggest diagnostic approaches as part of management plan that includes specific therapy (if available) as well as infection prevention and control / public health measures.
